I grew up on a dairy farm north of South Shore. I graduated from South Shore High School. I earned my bachelor's degree from Mount Marty College in Watertown, SD. This is my 13th year of teaching, all in Summit. During this time I have taught a variety of grades. I taught 4th grade for 3 years, preschool/ kindergarten for 4 years, 5th/6th combo for 1 year, all of 5th grade and partial 6th for 1 year. I know just teach fifth grade. I have been married to my husband Joel for 17 years. I have 4 children. Travis is 15 and is in 9th grade, Adam is 12 and is in 6th grade, Jared is 8 and a third grader and last, but not least is Liza. She is 6 and is in first grade this year. We live on a farm south of Summit. We have cattle, horses, chickens, dogs, llama, a rabbit, and even a pet tortoise named Squirt. I enjoy being outside with my animals and spending time with my family. Currently I am going back to college to get my master's degree. I have been working on it for the past 2 1/2 years. I will graduate in May of this year.
